APPLICATION FEES & DEADLINES

Deadlines General Information

·         Payment of the application fee is certification that your application was filed.

·         All applications that are started, but not submitted within two years, will be permanently closed. If your application is closed, you will be required to start a new application, from the beginning, and pay the associated application fee, if you wish to file another application. No information from your closed application will be accessible for your new application filing.

·         Applications that are submitted, but the applicant has not actively participated in the review process, are subject to being closed as abandoned. OAA will provide notice to the applicant if their application is at risk of being closed.

·         Laptop Registration: Deadlines for Exam Applicants to timely register their laptop will be found under Important Deadlines for each exam administration. Regardless if an applicant previously registered a laptop or took the bar exam on a laptop they intend to use on another exam administration, the applicant MUST register and download the testing software for each exam administration in which they have applied to take the exam.

Fees General Information

·         Payment of the application fee is certification that your application was filed.

·         All fees are nonrefundable. Claims by the Applicant to challenge a credit card charge as fraudulent in an attempt to recover application fees will be deemed a character and fitness issue and the Applicant will be barred from applying for admission in Colorado in future unless past owed fees are paid.

·         Application fees are subject to change without notice.

·         Application fees submitted electronically and rejected as unpaid for “insufficient funds, closed account, or stop payment” will not be deemed as filed and the Applicant will be responsible for any bank fees charged to OAA for rejected payments for any reason.

·         No applications or payments will be accepted after the late filing deadline. Fees that are declined or dishonored and not resubmitted by the last day of the late application filing period will not be accepted and the application will be denied as not timely filed.

·         Late fees will not be waived in the event an application is filed late because of technical problems.

·         All application fees must be paid when the electronic application is submitted. All fees, including the late fee, are assessed according to the date the application is submitted.

·         Payment Method Surcharge Fee: To cover the cost of processing a credit or charge card transaction, and pursuant to section 5-2-212, Colorado Revised Statutes, a seller or lessor may impose a processing surcharge in an amount not to exceed 2% of the total payment made for goods or services purchased or leased by use of a credit or charge card. A seller or lessor shall not impose a processing surcharge on payments made by use of cash, a check, or a debit card or redemption of a gift card.

·         Pursuant to C.R.S. § 5-2-212 a small credit card processing fee of 2% will be applied to all credit card transactions. This fee is necessary to manage the rising costs associated with accepting credit card payments. To avoid this fee, consider using an alternative payment method such as Automatic Clearing House (ACH) e-check or debit card which will not incur this surcharge.
